What is PBT?

PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) is a crystalline thermoplastic engineering plastic. It is available in various grades, such as non-reinforced, glass fiber-reinforced (GF), and flame-retardant, as well as specialized types like low gas, hydrolysis-resistant, and low warpage grades. The company offers a wide range of these grades for different applications.
The standard processing conditions for PBT are as follows:
Pre-drying: 120°C to 140°C for 4 to 6 hours
Resin temperature: 240°C to 265°C
Mold temperature: 50°C to 90°C

PBT can vary in its susceptibility to hydrolysis depending on the grade, meaning careful management of pre-drying temperature, resin temperature, and cylinder dwell time is crucial. Additionally, the company regularly collects information from resin manufacturers to ensure they can handle a variety of resin types.
