This is a molding case study for a housing equipment component. Due to surface roughness requirements specified for the sealing and mating areas in the drawing, the corresponding mold cavity surfaces are polished to a near mirror-finish level. During molding, special attention is paid to injection speed and mold temperature, and venting (air/gas relief) is provided at multiple locations within the mold. In production, strict control is maintained to meet the surface roughness specifications, and when issues such as haze or cloudiness are observed, mold maintenance is performed to ensure the required surface finish is consistently maintained.
