This is a molding case study for an office automation (OA) equipment component. The inner diameter section includes latch features, and the positional deviation tolerance between the inner diameter and the latch features was specified to be within 0.05 mm. Therefore, it was necessary to minimize deformation and warpage caused by molding shrinkage of the latch areas. To achieve this, the wall thickness was optimized for uniformity throughout the part, and appropriate draft angles were applied during mold design and molding.
